Amy
Proni has been a fiber artist since 1998, when she began taking courses
and workshops at the Kalamazoo Institute of
Arts. Amy initially worked
with silk, learning the French "Serti" technique of hand-dying silk
scarves, and setting the dyes with steam, moved on to needle
felting, then to wet felting a variety of fibers, including wool,
mohair, and alpaca.
One fiber piece, a Merino-Ramboulliet felted wall hanging titled Brown sheep, white sheep, was selected for the juried exhibition West Michigan Area Show, at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, July–August, 2006.
