[Cloth patch, Aquileia]
Aquileia is a village and
historical area just west of Monfalcone. The Romans had a outpost in
Aquileia. The floor of the cathedral there has buckled from the effects
of earthquakes in the region. The town is well-known also for the
ancient mosaics which decorate many of the local buildings and walls.
This cloth patch was saved by Tullio Proni as a souvenir of his 1960
visit.
